Real Estate Tax Exemptions
Some real property used for certain purposes is exempt from paying real estate taxes. Exemptions are often allowed under the Illinois Constitution for properties that are used exclusively for agricultural/horticultural societies, or religious, charitable, cemetery, and school purposes. These exemptions are sometimes referred to as "non-homestead exemptions." Amari & Locallo has extensive experience representing property owners in matters related to these types of real estate tax exemptions.
